Simvastatin reduces the expression of caspase-3 in kidney evaluated at 14^th day after SCI in rats. Caspase-3 expression in kidney of sham (A) vehicle (B) and simvastatin groups (C) was determined at 14^th day following SCI. Kidney of sham group shows no positive staining of caspase-3. Increased expression of caspase-3 was seen in vehicle group (B, green fluorescence). Simvastatin treatment significantly reduced the expression of caspase-3 (C, green fluorescence).
